Matthew Lewis

Matthew Lewis is the Chief Investment Officer of Banyan Residential, where he leads the firm's investment strategy, capital markets activity, and long-term growth initiatives, including the build-out of the company's market-rate multifamily development platform. Matthew has more than 20 years of experience in real estate, with a focus on multifamily development, investment, capital markets, and portfolio management, and has helped capitalize and close more than $3 billion of multifamily transactions across 45+ projects and approximately 14,000 units.
Prior to joining Banyan in 2026, Matthew served as Chief Investment Officer at Trinsic Residential Group in Dallas, where he oversaw all capital markets functions and served on the firm's Investment and Executive Committees. Before Trinsic, Matthew was Director of Acquisitions at L&B Realty Advisors, a Dallas-based institutional real estate investment advisor. He has also worked with Palatine Capital Partners, Lincoln Property Company, Rivendell Development, and Presidio Realty.
Matthew earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Southern Methodist University and is actively involved in industry and civic organizations in Dallas. Matthew lives in Dallas with his wife Joanna and their three children.
